Kiambu VTCs now make cabro: Muguga first, machines for every sub-county

Since March 2025 Kiambu has put cabro-making machines in vocational centres. Muguga VTC in Kabete is paving its own yard; Governor Kimani Wamatangi said Kamirithu, Ruiru and Juja Farm already have machines, with at least one VTC per sub-county to follow.

The Chartered Institute of Procurement and Supply launched its East Africa office in Nairobi in August 2026 as hub for 13 countries. Global CEO Ben Farrell met PPRA; Kenya already has five CIPS study centres. The institute cites 13 million LinkedIn procurement titles, growing about 10% a year.

Kenya Meteorological Department’s 13–20 August 2026 outlook says Bungoma, Trans Nzoia, Nakuru, Uasin Gishu, Elgeyo-Marakwet, Kericho, Nyandarua and Nyeri may get rain; most of the country stays dry. Nairobi and several highlands get intermittent cloud. Coast and North Eastern may later see up to 20mm above average.

KCB Group posted profit before tax of Sh49.3 billion for the six months to June 2026, up 20.8%. The board approved an interim Sh3 a share (Sh9.5 billion) payable November 2026. Assets hit Sh2.3 trillion; NPL ratio eased to 15.1% from 18.7%.
