Register a Company via BRS Kenya

Key points

Incorporate on BRS via eCitizen. Name search, forms and payment are online.
BRS fee schedule lists a private limited company at KES 10,650 and a business name at KES 950 (plus the live eCitizen convenience line).
After the certificate: get a KRA PIN on iTax, then any county permit your activity needs.
If the name is rejected or the file is sent back: restricted words, blurry ID scans, and unsigned CR forms are the usual causes. Fix on the portal; do not pay a second “registrar”.

Steps (private company)

Log into eCitizen → Business Registration Service.
Search / reserve a name. Avoid restricted words (bank, university, government, …).
Complete the company type, directors, shareholders, registered office, and share capital.
Download the generated CR forms, sign, scan clearly, upload IDs and KRA PINs as asked.
Pay the invoice. BRS lists processing about 3–5 days for a private company if the file is complete.
Download the Certificate of Incorporation from the same account.

Name taken / too similar: propose another name in the same application flow.
Returned for documents: re-upload readable colour ID and signed CR1/CR2/CR8. Do not start a duplicate company.
