Brian Kiprop, 40, grew up in Eldoret — Kenya’s high-altitude capital of distance running — where morning jogs and stadium chatter were part of the city’s soundtrack. He started writing match reports for campus and local papers before turning professional.
He completed a Bachelor of Arts in Media Studies at Moi University and a Certificate in Sports Journalism at the University of Nairobi School of Journalism. He has covered national championships, club football and the cultural side of sport: music, language and the economies that grow around heroes.
As Sports & Culture Correspondent at ZaKenya he reports both elite performance and community stories — from Rift Valley training camps to theatres and festivals. He works between Eldoret and Nairobi.
