Aviation is one of the careers which are known to be well paying and enjoyable in the whole world. This therefore make many people to have the urge to study aviation so as to develop this successful and comfortable career. Kenya therefore, has not been left out of the aviation race as it has developed several aviation institutions of higher learning to equip Kenyans with the necessary skills in the area of aviation.
Nairobi Aviation College is one of the institutions in Kenya which offer these skills in relation to aviation. This college was established as an aviation school but has however through the years, introduced other courses alongside Aviation-related courses. Its main campus is situated in 1st and 2nd floor of Kahawa House along Haile Selassie Avenue in Nairobi but has opened various branches in Nairobi at Odeon Cinema along Tom Mboya Street, Eldoret branch located in Dalsa Centre Building in Oloo Street, Kitale Branch at 2nd floor of Ambwere Plaza, Nakuru Campus at Larvan Paradise Building and Kisumu Branch at Apindi mini Matt Building.
This college has collaborated with Moi University to provide world class programmes and International Air Transport Association recognized. Their ongoing may/June intake target to offer the following courses:
The school of Aircraft Operations will offer Diploma Courses in Airport operations, Air Cargo/Cargo Rating, Flight Dispatch, Passenger and A.handling, IATA Cargo marketing, Aviation Security, Advance Dangerous Goods, Emergency Planning and an Advanced Diploma in Live Animal Regulations.
The school of Journalism and Media Arts hopes to offer both certificate and Diploma courses in Journalism and Mass Communication, Radio Television Presenting, Photojournalism, Radio and TV Production, TV, Video and Film Production and a higher Diploma in Journalism.
The school of Electrical and Electronic Engineering with offer both Certificate and Diploma in Electrical and Electronic Engineering, Telecommunication Engineering, Programming Logic Controllers, Micro Controllers Tech and Microprocessors Systems.
The school of Hospitality Management will offer an advanced diploma in Hotel and Hospitality, both certificate and Diploma in Hotel and Catering Management and Diploma in Front Office Operations/ Customer Services, Food Production/ Pastry and Bakery, Food and Beverage Services and Sales Skills and Housekeeping and Accommodation.
Nairobi Aviation College school of Computer Studies will offer certificate, diploma and advanced diploma in Information technology, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Development/ Engineering, Information Communication Technology, Mobile application Development and Plain Diploma in Graphics Design, Web application and Pc Maintenance.
The school of aeronautical Engineering with offer a Diploma in Aeronautical Engineering, Airframes and Engines Option, Avionics Option and Aeronautical Technology. They also hope to offer a certificate in Aircraft Maintenance and Aeronautical Technology.
The school of Travel and Tourism Management offers Certificate and Diploma in Tour Guiding and Administration, Diploma in Travel and Tourism, Air Travel Operation and Cabin Crew and Air Hostess.
The school of Business Studies will offer courses with Diploma in Business Administration and Management, Public Relations, International Relations, Human Resource, Sales and Marketing, Legal Studies, Community Health and Higher Diploma in Business Management and Secretarial Studies.
